How to use it
Three things worth knowing
I
Match the song, not the set
Change key between songs, not during them. The fade is there so the room never hears the join — two seconds is usually right, longer if you are talking over it.
II
Sit it under everything
A pad is glue, not an instrument. If people notice it, it is too loud. Start around 70 and pull it down until it disappears — you should miss it only when it stops.
III
Roll the tone off in a small room
Tone is a low pass filter. In a bright or boxy room, pulling it back to 50 or 60 keeps the pad out of the way of the vocals without losing the weight underneath.
